Direct Cremation in Hull

A Simple, Dignified Farewell — £1,980

Guidance • Care • Clarity — One Step at a Time

A Direct Cremation is a simple and respectful cremation without a funeral service or attendees at the crematorium. It offers families a private, dignified way to say goodbye, while allowing the freedom to hold a memorial later — in your own time, and in your own way.

At Robert A. Drew & Son, direct cremations are carried out with the same level of care, dignity and professionalism as every funeral we arrange. Your loved one remains in our care throughout.

What Is a Direct Cremation?

A direct cremation is an unattended cremation, meaning there is no service or gathering at the crematorium on the day.

Families often choose this option when they prefer simplicity, privacy, or flexibility — or when they wish to gather at a later date for a memorial or celebration of life.

It is not a lesser farewell — simply a quieter one.

Why Families Choose Direct Cremation

Families choose direct cremation for many reasons, including:

  • A lower-cost option while still receiving dignified professional care
  • No service at the crematorium — offering privacy and simplicity
  • Freedom to arrange a memorial later, without time pressure
  • More flexibility for families who live far apart
  • Time to grieve before planning a personal tribute
  • A calm alternative to traditional funeral arrangements

Every family’s needs are different — we are here to help you decide what feels right.
